‘Opposition needs to reunite if we want BJP to be defeated’
‘Poor Economic policies and Demonetization impacted millions of Indians’
New Delhi (India) February 10 : The National Executive meeting of the Nationalist Youth Congress was held on Thursday in New Delhi. This program was launched under the leadership of the National President of the Nationalist Youth Congress Dheeraj Sharma in Delhi, ahead of the Loksabha election 2024. Yoganand Shastri and other party workers and economists participated in the program.
Nationalist Youth Congress has resolved to form separate fronts for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections and appealed to the opposition to fight unitedly against the BJP. NCP Chief Sharad Pawar has also supported the call by Nationalist Youth Congress.
National President of the Nationalist Youth Congress Mr. Dheeraj Sharma while addressing the media, said, “the policies of the Modi government have pushed the youth into the pit of unemployment and despair. Not only the youth but also the policies of the Modi govt towards women and farmers have been disappointing. Instead of improving their conditions under the Modi government, their conditions have been continuously deteriorating.”
Dheeraj Sharma said that even while replying to the discussion on the President’s address in the Parliament yesterday, instead of talking about youth, farmers and unemployment, PM Modi’s entire focus remained on taunting the leaders of the opposition.
Dheeraj Sharma said in the presence of Sharad Pawar that if BJP has to be countered and its communal politics is to be defeated, then instead of different fronts, the entire opposition will have to forget their pity differences and unite. At present, only the Nationalist Congress can do this work under the guidance of respected Sharad Pawar. Yesterday, PM Modi couldn’t answer a single straight questions on the Adani-Hindenberg issue, raised by Waynad MP Shri Rahul Gandhi. PM again opted for a rhetorical approach which is a disrespect to the Upper House.”
During this meeting, eminent economist Professor GVR Shastri was also present, he also criticized the economic policies of the central government and termed the existing policies as anti-youth. He said, “The common man had to suffer the impact of misplanned demonetization. It was a futile exercise that affected our economy in the form of lower GDP. Factories were closed, daily wage workers struggled and start-ups failed because of this economic disaster. Today, we need to have a robust economic policy.”
